First, to read this blog, take the following steps:
1. Open your eyes widely (think surprise and amazement)
2. Let your mouth drop open.
3. Now, mouth still open, smile.
4. Ask yourself (or say it out loud): Is this my life?!?!!?
5. Lift up praise for creation, thanks for loved ones and supporters, and all around gratitude for life, expressed with joy.
6. Repeat steps 1-5, for several days.
That was my reaction to Belize.
So... just another day in paradise. I woke up, had cereal and juice (I took great pleasure in opening the refrigerator myself, seeing what was inside, choosing, and making my own breakfast, etc... things you don't do while living with a host family.). So, yeah... checked my email, had a cup of coffee, and then headed off on AN ISLAND ADVENTURE WITH A RASTAFARIAN. (I can't make this up.)

| It all began when Tina wanted to take a picture of the boat. |
 |
| Next thing that you knew, we were spending the day on the love boat... with the "pioneer" of snorkling tours. Now, just sitting on this boat would have been entertainment enough, but Ras Creek brought it to life :) Honestly, it was as if all of nature's beings recognize this boat...and everytime we came across a new creature, he reminded us that it was "included in the tour". haha. |
 |
| some 'friendly' stingrays and sharks... in we go!! |
 |
| he thought my dreads needed to be down for the picture. i was actually pretty calm at this point.. it wasn't until moments later when i put on the snorkel mask that i started to question this decision. surrounded!! |

| fresh coconut. (enter gilligan's island theme song) |
 |
| fresh fish, grilled boatside...oh and the carrots that had been rolling around on the boat deck. delicioso |
 |
what a full, surprising, holy day it was. "authentic cliche" complete with playing of the bongo drum after sunset
come mister tallyman, tally me banana
daylight come and me wan' go home
"Is this my life?!?!" Amen. |
Amen, indeed! Your story and photos made this so much more real for me than hearing about over the phone.....what an amazing day!
