Operation Visa Part 1

Well, we've hit the 6 month mark which means that we have to be booted out of the country for a few days in order to re-enter and renew our visa.  First stop: Tikal, ancient ruins of one of the greatest Mayan cities, in the middle of the Peten jungle.

Malaria meds:  check.
Bug repellents: check.
Mosquito spotting:  1
But we saw a loooot of other creatures!

Here you will see a few of the welcoming committee.
Just a few minutes into the park, we were surrounded!
They were not nearly as fascinated by us, however.
Not quite like the Mayan Kings would have done it... but still amazing! They would climb the stairs (not steps/ladder) in all of their splendor and talk to the community gathered below. 'Tikal' means 'City of Echo' (right, YAV team...??) and it's true! At the top, we sang 'Sana Sananina' and 'This is the day that the Lord has made'

Here, we were sacrificing Tina...

A little "God loves you" graffitti

And just when you think it can't get any better.. on to Operation Visa Part II:  Belize.
